We are delighted to announce this year’s Sports Week at Brunswick Park, beginning on Monday 15 June. It is managed and co-ordinated by Andrew Payne, our PE and Games Leader, and is focused on enjoyment and fun, with a little competition thrown in. It will take place on the North Side Playground during the children’s Year Group PE times. In bad weather, the event will move to the Sports Hall.
Parents and carers are welcome at each Year Group event to come and watch, and cheer your children on. All spectators must go to the School Office before the event starts to collect a visitor’s sticker so we are aware of who is on the premises for the purposes of safeguarding. If you are attending a morning session, please collect your visitor’s sticker from 09:05 and take a seat under the covered area of the playground. If you are attending an afternoon session, the school gate will open at 13:10 to allow time for you to collect a sticker and take a seat before the event starts. Spectators may collect their children at the end of afternoon sessions.
Children should come to school in their PE kit – white T-Shirt or polo shirt and black shorts/ leggings/jogging or tracksuit bottoms – and a pair of suitable black trainers. Please provide your child with a named bottle of plain water, a hat and sunscreen. It is helpful to apply long-acting sunscreen before school starts to protect your child throughout the day. We look forward to a week of celebrating sport, games and the importance of physical activity, and to seeing you and hearing your enthusiastic support for your children.
