The children at Brunswick Park have recently elected their representatives for both the School Council and the Eco Council. Our Eco Council promotes environmental awareness and sustainability amongst the children and in our community. It encourages eco-friendly practices such as recycling, reducing waste, and conserving energy. Our Eco Councillors develop leadership skills by planning and implementing green initiatives.
Following their first meeting, the Eco Councillors decided to further encourage recycling at school by launching a poster design competition. All the children at Brunswick Park were invited to take part by designing an A4 poster that promotes and encourages recycling.
The Eco Councillors have judged the 74 entries – a difficult job – and have chosen 3 winners. These are: Elena in Year 2, Saifa in Year 4 and Maria in Year 3. The winning posters will be used to decorate recycling bins in each class and around the school. And as a prize, the
winners will be allowed to wear their own clothes to school for a whole week!
