Year 3 gathering inspiration for our Black History Month art project. We are making carnival masks!
Origins and Cultural Significance
Carnival’s origins can be traced back to the late 18th century in Trinidad and Tobago, where it began as a ritual called Cannes Brulees. Over time, Cannes Brulees evolved into what we now know as Carnival, which became a vibrant expression of cultural identity and resistance against oppression.
