Year 3 have been learning about the instruments of the orchestra, and went to the Royal Festival Hall to hear the Philharmonia play its ‘Orchestra Unwrapped’ performance for schools.
On 1 July, musicians from the Philharmonic came to Brunswick and worked with the children to teach them how music can tell stories and paint pictures in the mind: here we have Beethoven’s Fifth Symphony evoking the characters of jester, princess and king.
The children were impressed with the musicians’ skill, and really enjoyed showing them their musical knowledge.
