For the last 2 years, the staff at Brunswick Park have worked hard to improve children’s playtime through OPAL: Outdoor Play and Learning. OPAL is a national organisation that promotes and supports creative play in schools. On Tuesday we proved that our hard work has paid off, and Brunswick Park achieved an OPAL Gold Award!
We received this message from OPAL’s Director, Michael Follett:
I would like to offer my heartfelt congratulations on your achievement in gaining an OPAL Gold award at Brunswick Park Primary School. Changing the culture of an organisation is not easy but you have done it, to become one of the best schools in the country for the quality of your playtime provision.
Along the way I am sure you have had ups and downs dealing with the common issues of rain and mud, tidying-up and broken loose parts, but the fact that you have gained an award proves you have succeeded in transforming playtimes for all your children.
Thanks go to Kelly George, Tracy Sherry, Rebecca Heathcote, governors and all the Play Team for their hard work, and to YOU for supplying donations of resources for the children to use, and helping us transform your children’s playtimes.
Please keep the donations coming!
