The annual Safer Internet Day is on Tuesday 10 February 2026, and will be marked with events and learning based on the theme ‘Smart tech, safe choices – exploring the safe and responsible use of AI’.
Everyone is talking about AI (Artificial Intelligence), and with many children and young people hearing about and using AI online, it is important they have the skills and confidence to make safe choices when they are using smart technology.
On Safer Internet Day the children will explore the impact of AI on our lives and look at ways AI can be used for good. They will learn advice and guidance that empowers people to use AI safely and responsibly.
Throughout the day, they will cover a range of topics, including:
- Understanding AI in everyday life – What is AI, and where do we find it?
- Smart choices online – How to stay safe when using AI-powered tools and platforms.
- Ethical considerations – Why using AI responsibly matters and how to think critically about making decisions using AI.
By working together, we can make sure that AI enhances our lives without compromising safety, privacy, or trust. Join us in marking Safer Internet Day 2026 to help create a future where smart technology is used wisely and responsibly. Please see the QR code and link below for more information:
