Dear Parents and Carers,
We have come to the end of the Spring Term on 1 April, a day known for fun and playing jokes and tricks. Children from Reception upwards were very surprised when all their teachers were handed an urgent message that had to be opened immediately, which they then went on to eat! (The children know it was special edible paper, and that they can’t do this with the usual stuff.) And Year 6 had a Mock SATs Spelling Test with words like gimble, skimber, and for those of us who are fans of the Simpsons, cromulent. Marble Treats helped the children to forgive us (they did see the funny side), everyone was a very good sport and the children have had a great final day, on which the weather was fooling us too: what’s with snow on 1 April?
Some thank yous: to the BPFA for a series of excellent Book and Bake Sales that have raised just shy of £750 this term, and to you for supporting your children’s learning and progress by coming to Parents’ Evenings last week. It was lovely to see you in person and on Zoom. They were our first events bookable solely on EventBrite, so after the holiday we will ask you for feedback to help us make the booking process and accessing appointments easier.
I will write to you next term about any changes in schools to the way Government is asking us to respond to COVID-19, following the publication today of new general guidance as restrictions continue to lift. When I have this information, I will share it with you.
Finally, I am proud of every one of the children who attend Brunswick Park; they are what makes the school unique and special. I wish you and your families a restful break, and look forward to seeing you again on Wednesday 20 April.
With best wishes
Susannah Bellingham
