Fun with Reading!
Dear Parents and Carers,
To support all the work the children have been doing recently on reading – WHICH Book? and the Book Bonanza – we are inviting children to celebrate World Book Day on Thursday 7 March by dressing up as a character from their favourite book. You are always so imaginative and creative when we do this, and we
look forward to seeing a variety of books brought to life on the day.
In the run up to the big day itself, to set the scene, Ms Huszar has organised Bookman to visit the school on Tuesday 5 March to host assemblies and take Year Group Workshops with the children all about books and reading, and in their classes with their teachers throughout the week, learning across the curriculum will be based upon reading.
The children will be given book tokens with instructions as to how to redeem them. After school on 7 March, the FoBs will run a BOOK SWAP. They are short of books suitable for children in Key Stage 2, so if you have any you can donate, please bring them to the School Office as soon as you can (see flyer on newsletter below).
With the Book Swap there is a STORY-TELLING EVENT starting at 4pm; all are welcome and we look forward to seeing you and your children there. On Friday 15 March it is Comic Relief Day. If you wish to make a cash donation to the charity, staff will be on Bantry Street with buckets before and after school. Red noses are optional!
