Dear Parents and Carers,
I begin with thanks: over 90% of Brunswick’s children returned to school on Monday 7 September, because you put your trust in us to look after them and to do our best to keep them safe. For that I am extremely grateful. The children have been brilliant and the vast majority have settled back into school life as if they had never been away for the best part of 6 months. Finally the school feels like it should, full of the sounds of children learning, playing, doing, making and having fun.
Of course there are obvious differences – the staggered start and finish times, hand sanitiser, one way systems, maintaining consistent groups and different lunchtime arrangements – and we have used this week to test our plans and learn from them. As a result we have made some changes to make coming to school easier for you and your children, and those are what this Newsletter is about.
Thank you for your support in reading them, and in making sure everyone in your families who comes into school follows them. As a community we are all responsible, and we need to work together and support each other to keep safe and the school open so the children get the education they deserve.
With best wishes for a safe and healthy fortnight ahead.
