Katy, from the NSPCC – with the help of Buddy the Speech Bubble – visited our Key Stage 2 pupils on Thursday 20 September for a Speak Out Stay Safe Session.
Years 5 and 6 also took part in a workshop. Speak Out Stay Safe aims to equip a generation of children with the knowledge and understanding they need to stay safe from abuse and neglect.
Children are taught to speak out if they are worried, either to a trusted adult or Childline. It is an effective way to support Brunswick’s safeguarding duties and links directly to the curriculum. By the end of the visit, children reported feeling empowered – knowing how they can speak out and stay safe.
