Dear Parents and Carers,
I am writing to remind you that children are not allowed to bring toys into school. These include footballs, football cards, Pokemon cards and fidget spinners. If your child brings a toy from home into school, it will be taken from him/her and returned to you at the end of the day when you collect your child. Toys from home will be returned directly to parents and carers; they will not be given back to the children who brought them in. The school is well resourced for playtime activities, so toys from home are not necessary. They cause arguments and distraction, promote inequality of opportunity and disrupt learning time.
I am also writing to remind you that for reasons of health and safety bicycles and scooters must not be ridden on the playgrounds at any time as they are hazardous and cause accidents at busy times. Please get off bicycles and scooters in Bantry Street and walk or carry them into school to avoid hitting pedestrians.
Finally, Brunswick Park Primary School is a public building used by young children, and by law to protect their health it is therefore a no smoking zone. This includes all parts of Bantry Street including by the white gate. Please put out cigarettes and all other smoking materials before you reach this area, as I am sure nobody wants to jeopardise their children’s or other children’s health. Our area of London is particularly polluted, and we have a duty to protect our children from harm. Thank you for your cooperation and support in making the school safe for everyone who uses it.
